It’s pushing six/seven/eight weeks since the beginning of the COVID-19 Virus with hopefully not a lot more of this forced but basically volunteer self-quarantine. As a result though I think we are all seeing some strange and quite remarkable side effects that I have to believe no one saw coming. I don’t think that what I’m talking about should be considered a win for either side of the aisle, but what I do see is an unforeseen unintentional bipartisan victory that should figure into America’s past history of always being first and great again, and that when push comes to shove the American people will always come together as one, and then of course, Pete Rose!
Over the last few weeks, and probably because I decided that until this episode of Mother Nature having another bad day is over, that I’d stay away from watching the news and/or Stock Market when it comes to anything that might have anything to do with being political, but unfortunately I see, when signing on to the internet, my home page where I get to see the ‘Spin’ of what’s being interpreted by the Progressive supporting Never Trumper’s’ and their perceived state of the Union and the negative news on the stock market! I’ve cut my article writing and objective posting on Social Media that people claim favors President Trump, but what I consider to be more about protecting and defending our founder’s Constitution and ‘Rule of Law’ that I hope I do before considering either side’s argument!
I guess you could say that what I’m doing might be considered some form of ‘fasting/dieting,’ and the reason I drove approximately 900 miles from Columbus Ohio to do the same self-quarantine, but doing it in 80 degree weather compared to the 30’s with snow and ice, and doing it to improve my state of my mind that comes with a different view, and doing it for an entire month!
The problem I’m having during these troubled times is that occasional sneak peek in the refrigerator in the middle of the night for that proverbial snack, which by the way isn’t something I found myself doing before the Coronavirus and the real eating and sneaking those late night snacks, but now watching myself slowly gain that not so proverbial and real weight that I’ve become very much aware of over the same period of time!
As I mention earlier before getting side tracked, I’ve noticed a very strange but remarkable set of coincidences that seem to be happening in America today despite the state of the Union due to the Coronavirus, and I’m sure throughout the world in these times of fear that comes from the unknown. What makes it even stranger is that it’s not caused by any political decision on either side of the aisle, but by a 1980’s campaign slogan by one of America’s greatest companies of all time that still exists today!
That company is AT&T and that one time slogan of theirs that’s still relevant from those years gone by is “Reach out and touch someone” which is something you definitely don’t want to do physically today, especially with the Coronavirus lurking around every corner, but something in the 80s, that AT&T urged people—metaphorically—when suggesting that everyone should ‘Reach Out and Touch Someone’ with their telephone service.
I think with the shutting down of every meeting place and personal ‘Cheers,’ where ‘everybody knows your name,’ that you used to be able to meet friends and family, but unfortunately all closed now due to the Coronavirus, have found a way to continue those conversation that are not only needed, but relevant to one’s own mental health. I have to believe its triggered the subconscious influences that have effected some part of everyone’s life, and with the ability of technology relying on a couple of those forgotten, but in these times much needed flashback reflections of those times when finding discovering those unknown and long forgotten ‘Why’s and Why Not’s’ of growing up, and putting those people and the part they played in your life on the back burner, that is until now, and that’s because subconsciously they’re somewhat needed in your life again to deal with the unknown effects of the Coronavirus! The end result has been a lot of phone calls from my past friends an acquaintances the past, and all of them being moved back to the front burner where they are needed once more, and where I plan to have them stay!
I moved to Columbus Ohio 5 years ago to be closer to my 2 adult children and their families, but after moving here seeing them pull the same ‘Cats and the Cradle’ that I’m sure every parent eventually has to deal with, and which is just another part of life that’s repeated time and time again, and that’s more than fine with me. Shortly after I moved to Columbus Ohio I accidentally left my cell phone in my pocket while they were being washed, and even though I caught ‘my bad’ within a minute or so knew, but knowing the age of that particular phone wasn’t being backed up by the ‘cloud,’ I lost every contact, picture, and whatever notes I had saved for basically a lifetime!
I got a new phone but kept the old phone in the hopes that someday some company will have the ability to take that soap infused phone and give me back a part of my life that until recently, and because of the Coronavirus, I thought I had lost forever! The reason I’m bringing this up is to see if anyone out there has any knowledge of anyone or company that can do that fix so that I can ‘reach out and touch someone’ in my past also during these troubling times, and If you have any ideas for/or have a remedy other than the many I tried back when, them please reach out and help someone, and knowing that someone is me!
A lot of these missing family, friends, and co-workers were at one time those same everyday people that helped myself and others discover the who, why, and what I wanted to be in my life, and doing it all in those years by just serving as a personal sounding board while developing personal opinions that would have been considered important building Blocks as I moved through life’s good or bad experiences. It’s actually more than that though because I know they helped me, and have to believe, or at least I hope, did the same for all those people in all our lives also. I have to believe also that this bonding developed a personal system of ‘Checks and Balances’ that works differently for each individual in order to establish a set of ‘Do’s and Don’ts’ guidelines that we’ve embraced through those years of ‘Trial and Error’ that we’ve all incorporated into our lives by simply learning that the best teacher in anyone’s life has always been that very memorable last mistake!
Finally, and before delving into Pete Rose, I always believed that you had to live life to the fullest, and experience all that life has to offer. I’m hoping that everyone’s perception is their reality and is the guiding force that people would always live by no matter how good or bad it turns out to be!
I was fortunate enough to actually have a friend I grew up with who was the one in charge of those profound quotes that you see under every Senior’s High School yearbook picture, and as I look back I can still see myself living life following those same words from some 50+ years ago, and yes, I said 50 years, and you do the math…. It goes:
“You only live once, but if you live it right, once is enough” ~~~
5 years ago, and before President Trump’s brand of leadership reared it’s complained about head, I was reminded of the similar work ethic of Pete Rose that earned him the nickname of ‘Charlie Hustle,’ and that’s because of the level of intensity he always brought to every baseball game he ever played. The other similarity is that like Pete Rose, President Trump is betting on America in the same way Pete Rose always bet on, and not against, the Cincinnati Reds!
Pete Rose ran full speed to first base after receiving a base on balls, and President Trump has been reported by insiders to have that same kind of work ethic by hustling every time America and/or the American people need something extra while he continues to fill more of his campaign promises, and of course without saying, while making America first and great again! That is until the COVID-19 virus put a temporary hold on his hitting it out of the park results on the economy, rebuilding of America’s military, and raising the American people’s approval rating, and because of his hustling for America and the American people, to historical record highs!
A lot of Past President’s Administrations had that same work ethic and receptiveness to what was needed to be done to fulfill the American people’s election day mandate, that is until the first Administration to win the White House after 9/11!
The Pelosi led Dems are either hiding or protecting something from the American people finding out about because Hillary lost, but I am having a hard time believing that it’s for their hate of President Trump and more about the 63 Million Americans who could see that what the Dems were proposing wasn’t something that looked anything like what our founders have been guiding us by for the last 240 plus years, and that has been successfully working for every American for those 240 plus years!
The Pelosi and Schumer Dems chose to go against the American people’s wishes by using a strategy that highlighted obstruction and resisting anything this President did that might allow the American people to come off that demoralizing physiological low that was caused by 9/11! I kind of reminded of another time in history when after the end of the Civil War, and the South lost to the Yankees of the North, that those years equivalent ‘Deep Stater’s’ of the North a.k.a., Carpetbaggers used that time to wreak havoc and take advantage of those who lost the most due to the Civil War!
If I recall it was the unknown senator who was being promoted over Hillary Clinton to be the one to deliver his message of ‘Hope and Change’ in the hopes it would win the American people over to his ‘Carpetbagging’ ways while selling his Socialist ‘Snake Oil’ to all those who couldn’t come to grips with the why America was being targeted by foreign nations for something America might have been misinterpreted for while spreading the same guaranteed rights that America freely offers and that no other country does!
With 7 months to go before the 2020 elections, and seeing another round of new attacks of unfounded and unjustified accusations being hurled at this President again, I’m reminded again of ‘Charlie Hustle’ and the way he went full speed to first base when he was walked on 4 straight pitched balls, and to me synonymous with the way President Trump handles every new obstacle that the Pelosi and Schumer led Dems put in his path that he’s forced to deal with daily!
For President Trump’s relentless defense of America and the American people, and his persistent ‘Get’er Done’ promise of making America first and great again, and delivering on his promises plus. I would have to say that President Trump will go down in the record books as one of the greatest President’s of modern times, as should Pete Rose be admitted to the baseball Hall of fame for what he’s done and for the records he still holds in the game of baseball, which by the way is America’s favorite past time!
Now if you’re thinking I was going to end the argument there, you’d be sadly mistaken.
I’m not disagreeing with why Rose shouldn’t be admitted to the Hall of Fame based on those once accepted norms back in the late 80’s, 90’s, and before 9/11, but now with what’s been going on in America today with the Dems trying to undermine our founder’s literal interpretation of the Constitutions claim to the rights of Due Process and the Presumption of innocence, and using what they call an acceptable ‘Double Standard’ where the American people are expected to live by one set of laws while a different set of laws applies to those in political power, know that BS is solely for the purpose of protecting the political elite from any legal repercussions that might come up because their willingness to break the law and to gain the power back that they need to rule, not lead, America into the future!
The ‘Double Standard’ also gives the elitist political class of the ‘Left’ the right to allow illegals to vote in the upcoming election, as they have before in 2012 with the reelection of Obama, and then again in 2018 when the ‘do nothing’ Pelosi led Democratic Party were able to take back the House using the same, but now fine tuned and improved methods that they’ve have refined over the years in order to steal another election!
Pelosi is planning to do it again in 2020 unless ‘We the People,’ and not our elected officials, do the draining of the ‘Swamp’ ourselves!
If you still believe that our founder’s ‘Checks and Balances’ are protecting America against all these supposed to be ‘Conspiracy Theories,’ and also believe that the leadership of the Obama Administration’s corrupt DOJ, FBI, and CIA weren’t corrupt, then know you’re falling for the ready to assist Pelosi and companies ‘Deep State’ run ‘Paid to Report’ Mainstream Media with their ‘Fake’ New, Stories, Innuendos, and questionable Sources because the Mainstream Media knows its irrelevant if those sources exist or don’t exist, because either way their identities are protected from being revealed!
It’s time for all Americans to step up to the plate for America and not blindly trust those politicians that we sent to Washington to do the job they apparently could care less about doing, and start taking the time to do the research that’s needed to be done to make sure these wannabe candidates actually believe in what you believe before putting that ‘X’ next to their name on the ballot!
My parent’s had both Democratic and Republican friends that believed in those individual sets of political protocols, but at ‘that’ time in history those political protocols didn’t cause protests, riots, or called for the breaking off of friendships, where unlike today where Obama’s intentional injection of Political Correctness, Identity Politics, and Implicit Bias, has created a atmosphere of divisiveness that hangs over America’s society today as we speak!
Back in those days, and the day after election day back then, only got a brief caused just a little conversation during the next day’s breakfast, but by lunch time basically forgotten as the conversation quickly turned to your favorite sporting team and the players that made a difference in that team’s future possibilities, and not that much more!
After President Trump won the 2016 election over Hillary Clinton, especially after the polls had Hillary winning by a landslide, the Dems decided that the American people couldn’t be trusted to do what Pelosi and her Cabal believed needed to be done, and that’s our founder’s version of America is a selfish one that doesn’t take into account the needs of the world before itself! It seems that the Dems are no longer on-board with following the last true standing Constitutionally protected Republic that’s built by the people and for the people, but instead for a figurehead that makes every decision for the people, that’s planning to be done by the New World Order’s powers to be!

Why Pete Rose Should ‘Never’ Be Admitted to the Hall Of Fame
Pete Rose was a transformational player. He helped define an era in baseball. With more records than my aunt Nancy, he is one of the greatest players of all time. Despite that, Rose should never be reinstated or admitted to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Ever.
Rose has once again applied for reinstatement, this time to Commissioner Bob Manfred requesting that his lifetime ban be lifted. Manfred has said he will “deal with that request on its merits.” There is no reason to believe, however, that Manfred’s position will be any different than that of Selig, who refused to reinstate Rose. And frankly, Manfred’s position can’t afford to be any different.
MLB Rule 21 provides that a player will be banned for life if he bets on a game in which he is involved. Here’s the language of that Rule:
“Any player, umpire, or club or league official or employee, who shall bet any sum whatsoever upon any baseball game in connection with which the bettor has a duty to perform shall be declared permanently ineligible.”
The Rule was put in place in 1927 after the Black Sox scandal of 1919, when eight Chicago White Sox were accused of throwing the World Series in exchange for money from gamblers. The scandal had the potential of toppling the game and MLB acted quickly by implementing Rule 21.
It is impossible for a player not to be aware of Rule 21. It’s everywhere. It’s posted in the clubhouse. It’s in the shower. It’s carved into soap. It’s in the sandwiches. Every player every year acknowledges the rule in writing. The ubiquity of the rule underscores its importance. Rose knew the rule and broke it.
And it’s a rule that has worked beautifully. We haven’t heard of a single player who has bet on baseball before or after Rose. Players don’t bet on baseball because they know if they do they will be banned for life. Rule 21 has proven to be a most effective deterrent.
There is no doubt that Rose has Hall of Fame numbers, and with all his records, he should be able walk into the Hall and pick his spot. Maybe somewhere by a window. The problem, though, is he bet on baseball and that means that he must suffer the consequences of a very clear rule. This rule is not about Rose; it’s about safeguarding the integrity of the game. Rose’s ban isn’t about Rose; it’s about ensuring that fans have assurances that games are not fixed or predetermined. The fact that the American people want to have Rose in the Hall is understandable. However, the need to have him excluded is far more pressing and necessary. MLB’s gambling deterrent is more important than any single person, including Rose. If players gamble on the game, they destroy it. There is no middle ground.
Hmmm, Rule 21, The scandal that had the potential of toppling the game of baseball that forced the MLB to act quickly by implementing Rule 21! 30 plus years later we have a political party that has no problem violating the Constitution’s guaranteed individual right to ‘Due Process’ and refusing to extend the right of the ‘Presumption of Innocence’ to a sitting President!
Bud Selig (85), like Nancy Pelosi (80), Joe Biden (77), Robert Mueller (75), and even Mitch McConnell (78) are the ones who control the State of the Union, with Bud Selig controlling Pete Rose future when it comes to his admittance to the ‘Hall of Fame!’ I also have to believe that the rest of these political ‘Hall of Fame’rs’ are just figureheads/puppets because the real Oligarchs who are doing all the Global planning for the world can’t afford to have their identities revealed because if known then what they’ve got planned for America and the world cover would be blown!
Former Commissioner Fay Vincent was the Deputy Commissioner when Commissioner Bart Giamatti announced Rose’s banishment on August 24, 1989 and was an integral part of the Rose decision making process. When I interviewed Mr. Vincent in September 2014, I asked him about a possible Rose reinstatement. Mr. Vincent didn’t mince words.
“It is not a question that we should feel sorry for Pete Rose or whether he has served his time – none of that is relevant,” Mr. Vincent said. “What is relevant is the gambling deterrent in baseball is perfectly effective. Nobody bets on baseball and I mean nobody. And the reason is absolutely clear and if you change that deterrent, even if you wrinkle it a little bit, you run the risk of undermining the game of baseball. If you reinstate him, you are fooling around with a major deterrent that has been perfectly successful.”
Many believe that Rose has paid the price having been banned for over 25 years. Indeed, this issue of proportionality is a fair one to raise. However, in the face of MLB’s indisputable need to have a highly effective deterrent in place to try and avoid the irreparable harm inflicted on the game as a result of gambling, it becomes very difficult to make an exception for Rose.
In fact, not only is it difficult, but also unwise.
I think with the last couple of paragraphs, and with today’s athletes taking a knee during the playing of our national anthem, being caught taking steroids since then and being banned, and then the winner of the World Series being caught stealing signs during the World Series, and now sports gambling being the number one income producing revenue for a lot of states along with the legalization of marijuana, I think the time has come, and the right time when baseball has been shut down along with a lot of other sports because of the international pandemic known as COVID-19 Virus! It’s time to forgive and forget and lift the lives of not only a lot of home bound self quarantine’rs, but for baseball fans who know this ban in today’s world of political correctness and Identity politics has no place in today’s world of common sense correctness …..
Just think about all that’s gone on in the world over the last 101 years since the Black Sox scandal of 1919 and the Rule was put in place in 1927 after that scandal!
It’s time for Pete to get his due!!
