HOUSE INTELLIGENCE CHAIRMAN: TRANSITION MEMBERS WERE MONITORED BY INTEL COMMUNITY UNDER OBAMA! 3/22/2017
Speaking to reporters on Capitol Hill Wednesday, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes revealed several American citizens who worked on the Trump transition team were monitored, surveilled and unmasked by the intelligence community during the previous Obama administration. Although the monitoring was legal, it was certainly inappropriate. Information collected on these individuals was then widely disseminated, despite being irrelevant to ongoing investigations into Russia.
Nunes revelation comes three weeks after President Trump claimed President Obama wiretapped Trump Tower. There hasn’t been any evidence of wiretapping, but the White House argues Trump was referring to overall surveillance of his campaign, not specifically wiretapping.
Nunes will brief President Trump about his findings this afternoon.

Republican Congressman Devin Nunes, chair of the House Intelligence Committee, announced on Thursday that he has recused himself from the committee’s investigation into Russia’s alleged meddling in the 2016 election, an investigation that has taken on even more significance amid evidence that the Obama administration “improperly unmasked” associates of Donald Trump.
Nunes has come under fire for revealing details of the Obama administration’s incidental surveillance and subsequent “unmasking” of Trump associates. After what Nunes describes as “left-wing activists” filed complaints with the Office of Congressional Ethics, the office began a mandatory investigation, pursuant to Committee Rule 18(a). That investigation has prompted Nunes to temporarily step aside, Reps. Michael Conaway (R-Texas), Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) and Tom Rooney (R-Fla.) taking the lead.
Nunes explained his decision to recuse himself in a statement issued Thursday, in which he alleged that the Obama administration is guilty of “the improper unmasking of the identities of U.S. citizens and other abuses of power” and dismissed claims against him as “false” – By James Barrett ~~

The highly-anticipated memo has finally been released to the public and Democrats are blasting it as an untrustworthy partisan political tool.
A statement released by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi refers to the document as “Nunes’ partisan spin memo” and expresses her disapproval with the president, declaring that “he just sent his friend Putin a bouquet.”
“President Trump has surrendered his constitutional responsibility as Commander-in-Chief by releasing highly classified and distorted intelligence,” part of the statement declares. “By not protecting intelligence sources and methods, he just sent his friend Putin a bouquet.”
She continues that the “partisan spin memo distorts highly classified intelligence in a cynical attempt to discredit our national intelligence and law enforcement agencies and the Special Counsel investigation,” and “releasing the memo is a desperate attempt to distract the American people from the truth about the Trump-Russia scandal.”
California Congressman Adam Schiff said in a tweet that, “The President’s decision to publicly release a misleading memo attacking DOJ & FBI is a transparent attempt to discredit these institutions and undermine Mueller’s probe. We’ll fight to release our classified response.”
“Until then here’s a glimpse at what’s wrong with their memo,” he added. His tweet contains an image displaying a portion of the text from the “House Intelligence Committee Minority Response to Release of Chairman Nunes’ Misleading Memo.”
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and several other Democrats including Nancy Pelosi, Dick Durbin, Adam Schiff, Dianne Feinstein and others, signed a letter to the president that referred to the memo as “partisan and misleading.”
The letter condemns Trump for releasing the document “over the objections of your own Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director and the Department of Justice (DOJ),” asserting that the president’s action, “was a transparent attempt to discredit the hard-working men and women of law enforcement who are investigating Russia’s interference with our Presidential election and that nation’s ties to your campaign.”
“We are alarmed by reports that you may intend to use this misleading document as a pretext to fire Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, in an effort to corruptly influence or impede Special Counsel Bob Mueller’s investigation,” the letter continues.
The Democrat signers then warned the commander in chief: “We write to inform you that we would consider such an unwarranted action as an attempt to obstruct justice in the Russia investigation. Firing Rod Rosenstein, DOJ Leadership, or Bob Mueller could result in a constitutional crisis of the kind not seen since the Saturday Night Massacre.”
Former FBI Director James Comey, chimed in on Twitter, similarly decrying the memo as “Dishonest and misleading.”
He said in his tweet: “That’s it? Dishonest and misleading memo wrecked the House intel committee, destroyed trust with Intelligence Community, damaged relationship with FISA court, and inexcusably exposed classified investigation of an American citizen. For what? DOJ & FBI must keep doing their jobs.”
While Comey and the Democrats have communicated negative attitudes toward the memo and its release, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul (R) expressed support for the release in his statement:
“While I applaud the release of this memo, I also call for Congress to take immediate action to help prevent such behavior in the future. It is imperative it start by listening to Americans who have expressed outrage over its disregard for the Fourth Amendment and reexamining the powers it reauthorized right before we learned of the memo. Continuing to ignore the Constitution will only guarantee that others fall victim to government abusing its domestic surveillance powers.”
House Intelligence Committee Chair Devin Nunes (R-CA) also released a statement:
“The Committee has discovered serious violations of the public trust, and the American people have a right to know when officials in crucial institutions are abusing their authority for political purposes. Our intelligence and law enforcement agencies exist to defend the American people, not to be exploited to target one group on behalf of another. Following his announcement on Wednesday that intelligence officials engaged in surveillance of the Trump transition team, based on the House Intelligence Committee’s findings, Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) noted that he’d be personally briefing President Trump on the matter in the coming hours.
Former chief counsel for the committee, Jeremy Bash, finds that horrifying. He argued on MSNBC that Nunes is jeopardizing the committee’s integrity by sharing sensitive information with the president during an ongoing investigation.
“I’ve got to believe that other members of the committee are horrified by what they’ve just witnessed,” Bash said. “This is a true breakdown in the entire oversight process.”

How can factual evidence be misleading if it happened, and if the FBI and DOJ did what the memo says, regardless of other extenuating circumstance that come up with the same logical conclusion, then how can that be considered deliberate?

A top House Democrat is challenging the core conclusion of the memo released by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes on Friday, calling the allegation that the Justice Department and FBI withheld key details as they sought a secret surveillance warrant on former Trump adviser Carter Page “deliberately misleading and deeply wrong on the law.”
Given his senior position, Nadler is one of the small number of lawmakers who has viewed the highly-sensitive documents that are the basis of Nunes’ memo.
Nadler’s legal analysis represents Democrats’ most detailed public response to the Nunes memo, released Friday after President Trump agreed to its declassification over the objections of his own FBI Director.
The problem with Nadler’s rebuttal to Nunes Memo is that their memo doesn’t disagree with the facts about how the Dossier was used by the FBI to get a FISA Warrant, and possibly just partly used as just one aspect of the sum of the whole case!
The bottom line is that what happened with the FBI and the use of the Dossier happened, and for the Democrats to use the FISA Warrant to spy on American citizens is just another way to ‘spin’ it to create another Democratic false narrative that actually is the real deliberate and misleading that’s going on here!
